Nature intended to fuel our inner healing force with the right plant based natural substances in order for the body to function at its fullest potential. However, because most of us have a “lack of knowledge” as to what our bodies need to function properly, we find ourselves out of balance and susceptible to all sorts of illnesses.

 

It was Seneca who said:”More people are killed through the stomach than by the sword.” These words are more true today, than when they were written about two thousand years ago.

The food we eat can either be our friend or our foe, it can either kill us or keep us going. And when it comes to prevention and reversal of chronic degenerative diseases plant based diet is indeed the true medicine. On the other hand research has repeatedly proved that consuming flesh and animal based products is held to be responsible for serious diseases such as heart disease, cancer, diabetes, High Blood pressure, obesity etc.

 

The fact of the matter is that huge proportion of diseases responsible for death and suffering are potentially preventable, but also, in several instances, are actually reversible without recourse to drugs or surgery.

Plant-based diets aren’t just safer and cheaper. They can work better, because they treat the actual cause of a disease.

 

According to the late Denis P. Burkitt the concept of Western diseases (chronic degenerative diseases), which must be largely preventable once causative factors in the Western lifestyle are identified and then reduced or eliminated, must be one of the most, if not the most, important medical observation made in the last 30 years.

 

Thus our food choice is a major factor when it comes to health maintenance and longevity. Not only that. The famous vegetarian, Dr. Kellogg once said, “When we eat plant based food, we don’t have to worry about what kind of disease the food died of. That makes a joyful meal!””
